Life Got in the Way!
Trust me, I haven’t forgotten about my love for tattoos or my goal to inform you as to getting the best tattoos and keeping them.
I seriously can’t believe it’s been a whole year since my last post. Life and work really got in the way. I also took a break from getting tattoos, mostly due to finances but also because I didn’t want to rush the ink work, preferring to spread it out. Getting tattoos can be completely addicting, just ask anyone with more than two tattoos. I find a lot of artists I would love to get work from but need to temper that with where to place it, what is the theme, and how much am I willing to spend.
I’ve found the in-demand artists often prefer to do larger pieces to invest their time and artistry in. That makes sense as the bigger the ink work, the more concentration, dedication and vision they can apply. Larger works also garners more money and takes longer. But I’ve been thinking about smaller two inch pieces. They kind of fascinate me. All that detail or simplification built into a tiny and personal piece. I find it very intimate. Also, this way I can get a sampling of the artist’s craft for which I have been following without committing to cover large areas of my body.
To start gathering an understanding of what is out there, I’ve started a Pinterest album simply called “Tiny Tattoos” and I will keep adding to it. So check it out. And shoot me a comment about what artists you like who are creating small works.
